I got the first shipment of Accurate BX2 600 today.
The size of BX2 looks identical to Accurate 665 two-speed as you see in the picture below.
The weight of BX2 is 29.5 oz while my 665 two-speed wheighs 28 oz.
I think the different handles or the material used make weight difference.
I put close to 30 lbs drag at strike and still it has excellent free spool and the binding is not obvious.
The angled handle is very nice and is much better than round knob handle they used for Accurate 665 two-speed.
With stronger material used and 30 lbs drag at strike, I have no doubt this reel can hand even 200 lbs tuna. Accuate did a great job to develop this kind of compact, but powerful reel. I have no doubt many tuna jig fishermen love this reel. I ordered BX2 400/500 and Accurate said it takes at least two week to get them. It looks the reels are in demand already.

All the Boss 2-speeds have instant anti-reverse bearings. No pawls.
They said they never had any problem with anti-reverse bearings.

Can you put a JM handle on the 600 and weight it? I would bet you will find the weights alot closer

Has the jigging world found nirvana? I guess all you can ask for is a $200 price tag, but damn, that reel seems to have it all.

    Kil,

Any word yet on the expected availability of the BX2-600N?
Also, what is the spool width measurement of the BX2-600 (looks to be around 5cm)?

Functionality aside, I think it would look nicer entirely silver. They make the BX2-30 and 50 all silver (along with every other reel) but not the 600/500/400?

Oh well, can always replace the handle with a Silver JM and replace the cast control knob with a 665 knob. Only then will it match my remaining lineup of silver reels.

I think I have fishing tackle OCD :)

The 500 is the old 870 size, and the 400 is the old 270 size. I've been told there will be narrow versions coming out soon.

I agree with you. It looks much better with all silver.

I am curious as why someone would want a 600N when here in the NE we are going to need line capacity in order to land this years class of fish (63"+)

the reels will be fished in more areas than just NE bluefin ;)

narrow reels have their place - but i agree for large tuna (over 150lbs) its better to have more line.

now i want one of these reels!

The line capacity of BX2 is about 450 yards of 80 lbs braided line. I guess you still get about 350 yards of 80 lbs braided line from 600N and it is good enough for 63" tuna though you might have problem to land over 250 lbs tuna. Besides, as Bret said the reel is not just for East Coast fishermen who might see some big bluefin.

Awesome, looks like I know where I'll be buying one. :D

Can't wait to stop buy your shop in a few weeks. I'm only about 45 minutes away.
