Heading down to Isla Mujeres Feb 8-11 for a quick weekend of fishing with my dad. Not interested in going off shore or trolling. Would prefer some type of jigging or popping for AJs or grouper or wahoo. :D

I read a few reports out of Playa del Carmen however, we are visiting people in Isla Mujeres and will not be able to make the trip down to Carmen.

Is there anyone you could recommend that would be qualified for jigging AJs from Isla Mujeres? Our fishing days will be Feb 9th and 10th.

Had a great 3-day trip. Packed a variety of fishing into a very short time span.
Day 1 - spearfishing for hog snapper, yellowtail snapper, yellow jacks, grouper and more + spiny lobsters
Day 2 - Offshore deepwater jigging for amberjack and grouper
Day 3 - Back country flyfishing for baby tarpon and snook (unsuccessful). Managed a crevalle jack and several cudas

If anyone is venturing to Isla Mujeres, a great place to stay/relax/hang out and have them cook your catch:
Casa de los Suenos
Owner: Patty
very friendly staff, very reasonable prices for everything, great location
