Isn't this a pretty good deal ?
New Shimano Stella SW 10000 Fishing Reel /Warranty Card - eBay (item 360284606651 end time Aug-25-10 11:38:26 PDT)
I'm looking for a 10000 FA, but for <$100 more (after Bing) than they seem to sell for ???
& feel free to buy it, as my fishing grounds are still closed so I guess I'll keep looking for a deal on a 10000 FA...

I've never had any problem with reelseller from Ebay. I bought half a dozen stellas from him without issues. NO more BING cashback though :-(

Agree completely. Many reels bought from Jeff never a problem and super fast shipping. Jeff is a great guy and can be trusted. I think thats an ok price not the best or worst I've seen. Best of luck on the purchase if you go for it.

That's a fantastic price. After BCB you're looking at a final cost of about $625! I'd like to see someone on here sell a brand new one for a better price....

Does the SW10K have the high speed (popping) ratio like the 10K FA ?

You're gonna want an 18k w/ 20k spool.

10ksw has like a 5.8:1 gear ratio I believe. It is also a much smaller and lighter reel than the 10k FA. You can get the SOM no limits spool for it. The 18k and 20k spools won't fit on the 10kSW. But if you're planning on fishing the GOM, then you may not even need a deeper spool. I got very close to 300m of PE5(70lb) Daiwa Samurai braid on mine.

I don't need another 10000SW, but for the heck of it I tried to buy the above reel with the bing cash back. It didn't work. So, I didn't buy it.

Like what IGS said, the 10kSW has a retrieve ratio of 5.8:1 but there is no need for 18kSW in GOM because the 10kSW has the same line retrieve as the 18kSW at 50in. per crank. Check it out at Shimano's web site:

Stella SW

The 10kFA and 18kSW will not be as comfortable as the 10kSW to use. Since you're fishing GOM, the 10kSW hold plenty of line for the type of fishing we do here. Just my 2 cents, but I would jump on that BCB deal on ebay for the 10kSW before it's too late.

I totally agree, except in my unique situation I have a 20K FA & a total of 4 spools (10K & 20K) & a 10K FA would give me a lot of options...

MrBill,
Bing Cash Back still work for me, I just try it :)
$680 - $54.40 (8% BCB) = $625.60
